My favorite builder (John Malone at Santa Fe Renovations) and I collaborated on this house. He was moving in with his cats and great art. The house is sited on a hill overlooking the valley and Sangre De Cristo Mountains beyond. Wildlife including bobcats are often seen on the deck. We kept the palette monochromatic, and followed a strict proportion with the windows and doors to maintain balance and harmony. The flagstone floors were created and installed by master craftsman Matthew Young. The plaster walls are colored mostly with sand. A great project with a great builder!
