Frontier Fantasy

This log cabin started as log cabin barns in northern new Mexico, and moved to santa fe in the 70’s to form a house out of many structures, recycling old wood for the outside and many of the inside features. We updated the structure, removing defunct solar features, re roofing and and filling in the gable ends with diamond shingles to blend in with the barn aesthetic. It takes talent and wisdom to know which features to enhance, replace, or leave alone. My client and I had a clear vision of the old barn legacy/log cabin meets Santa Fe. And a new kitchen, powder room, fireplace were added while keeping the old chink floors building on the sophisticated use of beautiful original materials including found doors and Mary Austin-like painting on the fireplace.
