Casa Rocca is a Santa Fe Historic Preservation Award-winning eastside adobe and rock house remodel and addition incorporates existing rock fireplaces, the old adobe walls and strategically placed skylights to bring light to this authentic hillside home. Most of the old vigas (beams) and adobe walls were re-used. We re-designed the front portal to curve around the house, and a new adobe wall in the front provides some privacy from the street. We increased the energy efficiency of the house with new insulation on the roof, installing high efficiency boilers and appliances and adding insulated glass where possible. In addition all of the doors and windows were either restored or rebuilt to match the existing contributing to the character of the house in order to restore and maintain the authentic nature of the house and harmony with the neighborhood.
